A Picture of an Idea

The only writing-related thing I did during the enforced idleness prompted by the Dreaded Mercury Retrograde, was to do a chart for an idea I had during that time. If you note the time, date and place where you get an idea, you can do a chart for it which will give you (a) more information about the idea, and (b) a clue to its possible consequences. Since I saw a Moon-Mars conjunction in Aries (people getting shot in the head) in the 9th house (broadcasting), and there are good aspects, I decided to pitch it to TV. Another idea chart that springs to mind was for an article I wrote a number of years ago, about dealing with anger. It was written in about an hour in white-hot fury triggered by I-forget-what provocation, but had Mars (anger) conjunct Jupiter (humor, selling, money) in the 3rd house (writing). I sold it fairly quickly too, to Astrology: Your Daily Horoscope. The best outlet for anger I ever had!

The point of this: it can pay to note the times of your ideas and chart them. Oh, and while you're doing that, be sure to note what the idea is, especially if you're noting it during a Mercuryh retrograde. You don't want to end up with a glorious chart full of Jupiter trines...and then not remember what it is you want to sell! That didn't happen to me, but it occurs to me that during a Mercury retrograde it could.
